A loan helped home improvements.

Lolofa's story

Lolofa K. is 44-years old and has four children who live with her in the small Samoan village of Vaiee. Lolofa is grateful for the weaving talent that she has. She has used previous SPBD loans to leverage this talent to provide for her family. With very hard work, she can weave up to 10 fine mats per day that will sell for a total of ST 250 (approximately USD 100). Her mats are well known and villagers come to her and place advance orders for special occasions. With a thriving business and a history of repaying past loans in full and on time, Lolofa now qualifies for a home improvement loan. Providing funds to Lolofa will help her make some basic improvements to her family home’s roof and floor. Lolofa’s home also doubles as her workshop, and so a loan to Lolofa will help ensure that she can keep her raw materials and finished mats safe, clean and dry.
