Gleni is 29 years old and is a single mother with one child. She lives with her family in the district of La Florida which is located in the Province of San Miguel, in the region of Cajamarca, in the northern mountains of Peru. Life in her community is calm and the townspeople work mainly in agriculture and raising livestock.
Gleni works buying and selling the guayaquil plant (used as a medicinal herb and for drinks). She has her own tools, and counts on more than 3 years of experience in the business with good references from her neighbors. She is asking for a loan in order to purchase a large quantity of of guayaquil in order to grow her business. This investment will help her meet the greater requests of her customers. She hopes to increase the quality of her service and thus be able to meet the diverse needs of her customers in the region so that she can generate more income and thereby gain a better quality of life.
