A loan helped to purchase organic fertilizer and improve agricultural production, enabling her to increase income and pay for her children's studies.

Celia's story

Celia is a 28 year old woman with three dependent children. She has been married to Orlando for over 5 years. She lives in a rural area of Cochabamba. She and her husband are hardworking, humble, and responsible, but have scarce resources. They count on income from agricultural production and the seasonal sale of potatoes, papaliza, and oca (local vegetables) that they cultivate on land inherited from their parents. In this way they can sustain themselves and look to improve economically.

Lately they have had to spend heavily on school supply purchases for their children who are studying and the crops are not yet ready for harvest. Therefore, she is requesting a loan to purchase organic fertilizer so she can take advantage of the lower price at this time and improve agricultural production. This will enable her to have a better income and pay for her children's studies.
