A loan helped a member to purchase seeds and fertilizers for her paddy farming.


Maa Baman Dei Shg-B Group's story

The "Maa Baman Dei SHG-B" a newly formed group, is made up of women who want to bring change to their daily lives through the program. They all live in the same village and share values of solidarity and working together. They mainly run small businesses and do some crop cultivation.

Lachhama is the lady in the picture who is standing middle, the featured borrower of the group. She is 28 years old and she has two children. She cultivates and sells paddy rice and has perfectly mastered this business from having been doing it for more than seven years. Her father helps her in this business.

With her new loan, she plans to buy seeds and fertilizers for her paddy farming. With her profits, she plans to increase her savings so as to better establish her business. The other members of this group, Namini and Nabi, are engaged in milk selling and fish selling respectively.
