Brenda is 21 years old and studied up to sixth grade of elementary school. Due to their economic situation, her parents could not afford to keep her in school. She is married to a policeman who works in another region and they have a son together, who lives with her. Brenda has worked in agriculture for 10 years, and learned this trade from her parents. Her brothers and sisters help her to prepare the soil to grow potatoes, and she also grows corn, beans, and vegetables, which she sells at local markets. She sells her potato harvest through fixed intermediaries that live in the area. The land that she works on is located in front of her house, which allows her to supervise the plantation and to prevent plagues. Brenda is requesting the loan to buy fertilizer, manure, the best quality potato seed, pesticide and labor costs, as she has around seven sowing tasks planned.
