A loan helped to pay the rent on 21,000 square meters of land and to buy 12 bags of fertilizer.

Elia Milagro's story

Elia, 39, studied up to high school. She and her life partner have been together for 10 years. He works as a gardener in a hospital and they have two children.

She earns a living doing agricultural jobs. Her mother taught her to work the land and she learned to handle those tasks well, and they allow her to have basic grains for consumption and even to sell throughout the entire year. The place she works is two kilometers from her house, and she devotes six hours a day to it. Sometimes she has to hire workers to help her with the crops.

She's going to use the loan to pay the rent on 21,000 square meters of land and to buy 12 bags of fertilizer. She needs to pay soon because the owners will rent it to someone else if she doesn't. She found the fertilizer at a good price, so she wants to buy it soon, because later it might be more expensive.

Elia's dream is to help her oldest child go to school, because he wants to be a lawyer. That's why she wants to have the conditions she needs to be able to help him.
