A loan helped to buy two buffaloes to plow her farmland.

Ret's story

Mrs. Ret C., 42, is a rice farmer who lives in Phsar Leu Village in the Pursat Province. Her husband has been a construction worker since 1979, and with his many years experience is currently chief of workers. C. has two teenage daughters who are in school.

Because rice farming is the main source of income for the family, C. works hard. She grows rice twice per year, once in the rainy season and once in the dry season.

Previously, she has rented a buffalo at high cost from another villager to use to plow her farmland. Now, to reduce the cost of renting buffalo, she wants a loan to buy two buffaloes that she will own.
