Cathrine's story

The person appearing in the photo is Cathrine, thirty-seven years old, married and a mother of four children. One child is in secondary school and two are in primary school.

She does both potato and dairy farming. She is borrowing a Kiva loan to buy fertilizers and dairy feeds. Hand in Hand eastern Africa training has enabled her to improve on enterprise management, recordkeeping and also financial management.

She believes that both crops and animals will improve on their yield which will increase the supply volumes leading to more income. She will be in a position to meet her family's needs.

Cathrine highly appreciates Kiva and promises to repay the loan promptly.
