A loan helped a member to buy planting seeds.

Kinungi Baraka Women Group's story

The person raising her hand in the photo is Pauline, a member of Kinungi Baraka Women Group in Limuru, Kenya. She is thirty-eight years old, married and a mother of four children. She has benefited from Hand in Hand Eastern Africa (HiH EA) trainings, which have helped realize her strength in business. She is engaged in a full-time business of vegetable farming, dairy farming, and poultry farming.

She is taking a loan to boost her farming by buying hybrid planting seeds to enhance her farming business. She believes this will improve on crop yield and, thus, increase profits, which will in return help support her children's education by paying school fees and providing better clothing for them.

Pauline is grateful to Kiva and its lenders and promises to repay the loan promptly.
