A loan helped to buy agricultural supplies and fertilizers.

Delfa Piedad's story

Delfa is a humble person who lives in San Miguel, Bolívar province, in the Pucara community. She belongs to the Nueva Esperanza [New Hope] rural bank. She doesn’t have a stable job and she has to provide for her ten-year-old son. She is a single mother and is asking for a loan to buy supplies and fertilizers to plant corn and beans and to get a good harvest in order to pay off the daily living expenses of her family. She makes her purchases in San Pablo each week.

Her dream is to buy a plot of land to increase her plantings. In her free time she likes to watch television and take care of her children. She likes Carnaval and Christmas, which are traditional holidays in her community, when she can get extra work and more money for her children.
