A loan helped to buy more timber for resale.

Jacqueline's story

Jacqueline is 40 years old and lives in the town of Zana in the Kampala west region of Uganda. She is married and has 4 children with 3 of them currently in school. For the past 5 years, Jacqueline has been working hard to manage her timber sales business.

To help expand her business, Jacqueline has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more timber, and will help Jacqueline to generate greater profits and boost the business. Jacqueline hopes that in the future she will be able to become a big supplier.

Jacqueline is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Jacqueline who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
