A loan helped to finance additional stock for her store.

Zenie's story

Zenie is 45 years old, married, and a resident of Del Pilar, Baliangao, Philippines. Her husband is a manual laborer. They are blessed with four children. Because it is hard for them to survive if only her husband is working, she decided to engage herself in selling.

She started a sari-sari (mini- grocery) store with a capital of 3,000PHP. Their primary customers are their neighbors. Successful, she was able to manage it well, and able to finance the daily needs of her family with the help of Paglaum Cooperative, of which she became a member in June, 2009. She was able to avail herself of two loans, and paid them religiously.

Now she applies for a loan of 5,000PHP to finance additional stock for her sari-sari store. She is looking forward to expanding her sari-sari into a mini-mart someday.
