Maria is 22 years old and works making some amazing handicrafts. With her own hands she works making bows, ribbons, hair bands, embroidered clothing and baby clothing products. She started her business in 2010 when she learned from her in-laws. She got interested watching them work and decided to help them and learn the trade. She has gained experience and now works with her mother-in-law.
She sells her product to the stores that specialize in clothing sets for children and children's accessories mainly on credit and in cash. She collects the money weekly. She works from 9 in the morning until 8 in the evening, including the breaks she takes for meals. Her goal is to buy an embroidery machine as she has many plans to expand. She plans to buy a house with her husband to provide her two year old son with better well-being.
At the present time she is requesting a loan from Kiva the first that she has had through the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With it she will purchase an embroidery machine, raw materials and supplies to provide better quality clothing, more innovation to her clients and increase her production. This will make it a successful loan.
