A loan helped a member to buy manure, fertilizer, and straw.

Thioro's Group's story

This group was created in 2007 and is composed of members who live in the same village and share ties of solidarity. They all work as farmers on banana plantations.

Haby, who is standing on the right of the photo with her hand raised, is the featured borrower [of this group]. She is married and a mother of five children, of whom two are boys.

Haby works planting bananas and selling them after about six months. With this loan, she plans to buy manure for 140,000 francs, fertilizer for 225,000 francs, and straw for 40,000 francs. She will also pay the cost of transport which is about 40,000 francs.

Her goal is to support her family's needs, especially school, health, and diet.

In this group: Thioro, Amicole, Aby, Yacine, Tabara, Khady, Georgette
