A loan helped to buy a refrigerator and furniture to expand her business.

Marlene's story

Marlene is a 36 year old woman. She is single, has no children and her business is selling food. She is independent, constant, responsible and hardworking. She works in the South of the city, which is known for the diversity in typical food and its saint feast in honor of the "Saint of Eastern Bolivia", the miraculous image of the Virgin Mary, revered by the people every year and where all believers go see by foot. Marlene is dark skinned, of medium height, long loose hair. Her native language is guarani, which she almost forgot because Spanish is used to do business in the area. Her business is selling typical local food of the place such as locro (stew), spicy chicken, patasca (soup), duck and chicken majadito, anticucho (kebab), among others. Her dream is to have her own house. She wants to expand her place of sale buying a refrigerator, tables and chairs in order to serve more customers and improve her income. This is why Marlene is requesting a loan to buy a refrigerator and furniture to expand her business.
