A loan helped a member to weed and harvest the crops.

Adom Nyame Group's story

Atta is a member and a leader of Adom Ara Kwa Group. He is 73 this year and is happily married with six children. Three of his children are still in school. Atta lives with his family in Abura Koforidua in the Central Region of Ghana. Atta has been farming for 40 years. He grows oranges on a six acre farm land and his farm is his main source of income. His crops, together with the members of his association, are purchased by a local fruit processing company. Due to his age, it is becoming physically demanding to maintain the farms alone. He is very happy and optimistic about his business prospects since income from the farm has been the main source of livelihood for his family. Atta's greatest challenge is how to finance the maintenance costs for his farm. Without the financial capital, Atta cannot afford to hire labor to weed and harvest his crops. A loan of GHC 800 will help Atta increase his yield significantly to make more gains to support his family. Atta thanks all his micro-lenders for their generous assistance.
