A loan helped to pay for more personal products to sell at her store.

Amelia's story

Her name is Amelia, 45, a resident of Coron, Palawan City, Philippines. She is married to Ruben, a pastor, and has one child. She manages her own household while operating the business. She works hard to augment their income for their daily household needs and for the schooling of her child.

Amelia has a direct selling business. She sells beauty products like whitening soap, lotion, natural food supplements and vitamins. Dealers buy the products in volumes at wholesale prices and retail them at a reasonable price. Filipinos are now more knowledgeable and conscious about their health and beauty which makes her products very salable.

Her regular customers are her neighbors, friends, family and the local community. She earns a minimum of Php3,500 in sales every week. She also offers a massage service to tourists and local residents and she has a loading business as well.

To help her sustain her business, Amelia is requesting a Php 50,000 loan which she will use to buy merchandise items and orders of beauty products and health products for her customers. She is positive that her sales will improve as more products are displayed in her store. She is thanking God and you in advance for a good return of her investment and for the financial help that will be given her.

Amelia aims to grow her business so she can send her child to the best school possible. She dreams that her child will finish college and that her family will continue to serve and love God. She faithfully meets up with her co-fellowship members to share stories of her work every week and where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay Micro Finance loans.
