The "Nueva Esperanza" (New Hope) lending croup meets every two weeks in the Picoaza Parrish of the city of Portoviejo. Picoaza is known for being a very commercial region, for is traditional San Pedro and San Pablo festivals, and its happy people. María lives here, and she is 65 years old. A few years ago, her husband passed away. From this marriage, she has six children who are now adults. She currently lives with one of her daughters.
María is a fighter who sells bed sheets, bedspreads, quilts, tents, towels and other items in order to earn an income and get ahead. She makes her sales door-to-door and she works almost everyday in the afternoons because that is when she is able to find her customers so she takes advantage of this to make her sales and collect her payments since she makes sales on credit, charging them weekly. She has been in this business for 10 years, which has allowed her to get ahead on her own.
This loan will be used to purchase bedsheets, quilts, towels, curtains and other items. She has been a part of this lending group since its inception, and she enjoys it because the loans are fast and they help a lot. Her dream is to be in good health.
