Sandra is 24 years old, and she is a single mother of two children. She has a plaster crafts business.
She is enterprising, cheerful, optimistic, happy, and spontaneous. She has a good attitude, and she is dedicated, authentic, generous, kind, responsible, and very hardworking. She carries out her business in Colcapirhua, which is a small city in the fifth municipal section of the Quillacollo Province, at an elevation of 2,565 meters above sea level. It is located approximately nine kilometers from the city of Cochabamba. The two cities are connected by a main highway called the Avenida Blanco Galindo.
Out of a need to improve her family’s quality of life, she formed a banking group of like minded people in order to request a loan.
Sandra has tan skin and long, light brown hair, and she is of medium height. Her mother tongue is Quechua, which she uses with local people, and for business Spanish is more common. (She is in the back, wearing a black blouse).
Her business is creating plaster sculptures. For this, she needs a mold (she makes this also), which she coats with oil, and later fills with plaster. She waits between 20 and 30 minutes in order to remove the mold and any excess that may be remaining on the edge. She leaves it to dry for one or two days, and then sands it, if necessary. Finally, she paints it. These hand-crafted forms, such as piggy-banks, ornaments, ashtrays, etc., are sold at fairs.
She dreams of being the owner of a store and a large business, in order to improve her quality of life. She wants to increase her working capital and production, purchasing working materials such as a rack for drying the plaster, paint, molds, plaster, oil, etc.
These are the reasons that Sandra is requesting a loan: to purchase tools for working with plaster, and to improve her children’s quality of life.
