A loan helped to purchase equipment for the restaurant.

Marisa's story

Embracing her Mexican roots, Marisa, a first-generation U.S. citizen looking for a means to support her family, began her own catering business in 1995. In 2002, Marisa opened her own restaurant, Tijuana’s Mexican Kitchen, in the heart of Lincoln Park, Michigan.

Now, Marisa’s business is thriving and the entire family is working together to run three different locations throughout the Metro Detroit area. Marisa loves being able to pursue her passion of cooking every day while also being able to provide for her family both in the U.S. and in Mexico. She is happy that her own entrepreneurial endeavor has become a family business that will be passed on to her children and grandchildren.

To keep expanding in popularity, Marisa needs a loan. She needs a new air conditioner, a new floor for the dining area, and inventory to be able to fulfill her orders. She hopes to see her business thrive, so it can provide financial security for her family.
