This loan is part of Ibdaa’s pilot program to help Syrian refugees who have fled to Lebanon, escaping the violent conflict in their home country. Since the conflict in Syria started in March 2011, more than one million refugees have come to Lebanon, where they face numerous challenges and obstacles. Beyond to the day-to-day struggle of being refugees in a new country, these individuals do not have access to traditional financial services and face harsh discrimination in Lebanese society. Employment opportunities are limited and most microfinance institutions in the country will not serve this population. By supporting this loan, you are helping some of the most marginalized individuals in Lebanon develop their businesses and provide for their families.
