A loan helped to repair agricultural machinery, purchase diesel fuel, and pay for fertilizers (35 bags) and potato seeds (500 kg).

Arpine's story

Arpine is a farmer from Sarnakunk village of Syunik region. She lives with her husband, grandfather, and two sons. Jointly with her family members, Arpine has been engaged in agriculture for 20 years already.

Arpine's family owns various types of agricultural machinery and cultivates potatoes, beans, corn, and other types of grains. The family's agribusiness needs some investments to function in a more efficient way. A loan of USD 3,000 will be a great support to this hardworking woman and her family, enabling them to repair their machinery, purchase diesel fuel, and pay for 35 bags of fertilizers and 500 kg potato seeds.

As this is Arpine's first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who didn’t have access to credit products in the past because they have no credit history.
