Elena's story

Elena is separated from her husband and is 49 years old, she has 2 children and lives in Lima, in the Sihualaya sector of the Tinicachi district, province of Yunguyo-Puno. She is a member of the community bank Virgen de Lujanu Yunguyo. With her first loan of S/.300.oo new soles she bought pigs and sheep. She learned how to create llicllas to support herself, as she couldn’t study because her mother died when she was born and her father supported her brothers, but not her, so she started working very young. Currently she stills creates llicllas and she also sells fabrics she sends to Lima where she has a store. With the loan she is requesting of S/.1500.00 new soles that she will pay in 4 quotes, she will buy 10 rolls of fabric to create jackets, pants, sweaters, etc. Her biggest wish is to have her own house in Puno.
