A loan helped to purchase more materials for her tailoring business.

Cate's story

Cate is 33 years old and lives in the town of Zana in the Kampala west region of Uganda. She is married and has three children with two of them currently in school. For the past 10 years, Cate has been working hard to manage her tailoring business, where she does tailoring.

To help expand her business, Cate has requested a loan of 2,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more materials for her tailoring business, and will help Cate to generate greater profits and improve on her family's standard of living. Cate hopes that in the future she will be able to expand her business into a training school.

Cate is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Cate who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
