Farogatkhon works as a seamstress in her home in the B. Gafurov district of Khujand. She is 40 years old. Eighteen months ago, she started her business embroidering tablecloths. Farogatkhon started but never completed a university degree, and she has never worked before. Farogatkhon is married and has four young children who are 15, 9, 5 and 1. To help her husband provide for this large family, Farogatkhon uses her skills in business. Now she works sewing tablecloths to sell. She sews on an old machine. To improve the quality of her sewing, Farogatkhon wants to buy a serger for trimming and edging fabric, sewing flat seams and chain stitches, coverstitching seams, etc. Therefore, Farogatkhon requested a loan in the amount of U.S. $1,000 to buy a serger and fabric for sewing. She has high hopes that she will receive support.
