The "Maa Santoshi Shg" group consists of twelve members from a small village of Nayagarh district, Odisha, India, with Tribeni selected as the Kiva representative. Tribeni has volunteered to be the Kiva group representative; in the photo, she is standing with her hand raised.
Tribeni is 41 years old and has been a farmer for ten years. Tribeni works as a farmer to provide a standard life for her two children. The community and other farmers know Tribeni as friendly, hardworking, reliable, trustworthy and an experienced farmer. Tribeni described her harvest last year as good, but hopes she can have an even better one with the support of the People's Forum and the other farmers in her group.
Tribeni will use her Kiva loan portion to cover the initial cost of purchasing the seeds and fertilizer for her cropland. She, along with her group members, wants to say, "Thank you," to Kiva and its lenders for this support.
In this group: Tribeni, Kumari, Ujwal, Rama, Nayani, Lata, Pramila, Gumani, Amulya, Ujwal, Basanti, Dinu
