Glenda is 30 years old and both a farmer and housewife. She is a mother to four children: the eldest has a job, two are in school, and the youngest stays at home. Alongside her partner Glenda has been making a living growing coffee for over ten years. She must carry out tasks such as cleaning the crops, laying manure, cutting the plants and harvesting the grains. Glenda's partner comes from a family of farmers and she herself learned the trade as a girl with her parents, who are also descended from farmers. Glenda and her partner own the land that they work: as they inherited one plot of land, and worked hard to buy the other plot. One of their plots of land is adjacent to the couple's home, while the other is two and a half kilometres away; they reach it by foot or animal.
Glenda has applied for a loan from "COMIXMUL" in order to buy buy farming supplies. She will buy: eleven bags and seven litres of fertilisers; she will also pay labourers to help clean and look after the crops. Glenda's would likes to have basins and patios to keep the coffee in the shade and store it before selling it when the market price is higher. Glenda's biggest wish and dream is to see her children graduate from university so that, in the future, they can look after themselves and be great professionals.
