Chin is 53 years old and a mother of five kids. Currently two of them are under her responsibility and they are in school. She lives in Battambang province where her rice is grown. Rice is the main source of income for feeding the family. She has been in this business for 20 years. She is in the third loan cycle with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner) while her joint borrower is a second-time borrower. The past loan which she has fully repaid has enabled her to upgrade her standard of living so it is better than before.
For this cycle, she is requesting loan of 1,000,000 KHR and her co-borrower is applying for a loan of the same amount. As the leader, she will spend her loan portion to buy seeds and fertilizer for her farmland. She hopes very strongly that she can make more income so she can renovate her house in a timely manner.
