A loan helped to pay for new clothing stock.

Emilia's story

Emilia lives in Stepanavan, Armenia with her two daughters. Her husband is a migrant worker in a neighboring country.

Six months ago, Emilia started a retail business to tackle the financial hardship that she was facing. Her business entails selling clothing and dressmaking supplies. The business provides her with income to sustain her family.

Emilia would like to expand her business. She is requesting a loan to help her purchase new clothing stock that will allow her to meet her clients' demands. Emilia has been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF International. The start-up loan program provides business start-up loans, with soft conditions, to informal businesses that do not have access to credit products.
