Mai Group's story

Mai is a hardworking farmer who was born in 1974. Her two oldest daughters are earning now. She has one smaller daughter and son who are 12 years old and 10 years old, respectively. Her husband passed away.

Mai has been a loyal participant of SEDA’s program since 2006. She has successfully repaid seven loan cycles. Last time, she borrowed 8,066,000 VND (Vietnamese dong) to raise chickens. This time, Mai is requesting a loan of 9,374,000 VND to enlarge her field of vegetables, buy animal fodder and pay tuition fees for her children.

Mai only wishes that her children will grow up well and be able to improve the living standards of her family.

• Mien is the mother of five children. She is 55 years old. She is requesting a loan of VND 5,014,000 to grow vegetables.

• Chiem, who is a 56-year-old farmer, would like to borrow VND 9,810,000 to plant vegetables.
