A loan helped to buy a buffalo and maintain the cowshed on her dairy farm.

Abida's story

Abida is a 25-year-old married woman, living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is a responsible housewife. Currently, Abida owns a dairy farm at her home, and she produces milk with the help of her husband. A few days ago, one of her cattle was stolen due to lack of security. There is no proper shelter for her cattle, which needs to be improved. Abida wants to buy a buffalo and maintain the cowshed, but she has insufficient savings. Therefore, Abida requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan, so that she could overcome these deficiencies and carry on her business smoothly. With the profits, Abida will ensure the security of her cattle and build up the cattle's shelter, so that she could avoid theft in the future. Abida is very thankful to Kiva and its field partner, BRAC Pakistan.
