A loan helped to pay the security deposit for cabin crew training.

Jessica's story

Jessica is a beautiful woman with an amiable personality who loves to travel and explore the world. She is pictured with her mother standing on the right side. She belongs to a middle class family from Manipur, in the northeastern region of India. She always wanted to work in aviation, which she believes will make her dreams come true.

She grew up facing financial problems as her father is the sole breadwinner of the family. Her mother is a housewife who is entirely dependent on her husband’s income. Her father is a full time employee working in the central government sector. He gets only 18,000 INR as a monthly salary, which is not sufficient to support her and her two younger siblings to pursue a career in any professional fields. However, this concern does not stop her from pursuing her dreams.

“Many a times, it broke her heart thinking that she won’t be able to get the opportunity to pursue her dream career. She was fortunate to be selected among hundreds of aspiring candidates but financial issues have again become a great concern, which gave her mixed feeling of joy and sadness," says Jessica.

She was introduced to Kiva loans by one of her friends. It was such a great relief when she learned about such an amazing organization that rendered financial help to the poor and helpless. She will use her Kiva loan to pay for the cabin crew training fees that are mandatory for all the selected candidates. “The loan money will act as a bridge to lead her to a successful career,” says Jessica. She wishes to support her family and provide her siblings with a better education and opportunity to learn and be successful once she starts earning. She also wants to invest in helping others who need financial help like her to pursue a career.

She wholeheartedly thanks and appreciates Kiva for being such a great help and a savior who provided her a platform to pursue her dream career.
