A loan helped to construct a Biodigester.

Elizabeth Kabura's story

Elizabeth is a mother of 4 girls, 2 in high school and the other 2 in primary school. She is an entrepreneur selling milk, eggs, vegetables, fruits, sugarcane and cereals next to her home to sustain her family. These she buys at a bigger market and sells them to her local neighbours, apart from milk and eggs, which she gets from her own 3 cows and chicken.

Veronicah has been one of the biogas promoters (though she doesn't have one herself) because she knew it was the only way to save other women in her community the burden of walking long distances, through unsafe pathways, carrying heavy loads of firewood.

With a biogas credit, now she has constructed a biodigester of 8m3 to produce enough gas for cooking and showering. She hopes after the completion her husband and children will no longer have to wait for her to come cook or warm food since the biogas stove is easy to light and use. With the biogas shower, her family will also enjoy warm baths every day, improving on their hygiene.

Elizabeth is now happy that she can use her own biodigester to demonstrate it others as a way of promoting and marketing it.
