Created on July 16, 2012, this 'banc villageois' is composed of women who are very dedicated with a desire to make their revenue-generating businesses prosper. There is an understanding and a spirit of mutual assistance among the group members. They all live in the same district and are mainly active in small-scale commerce.
Ms. Astou (sitting at the far right with her right hand raised) is the featured borrower of the group. She is a married mother of four children (two boys and two girls). She has a sewing workshop in the commune, at the district market to be exact. She is helped in this business by two young apprentices, and she has a good mastery in this domain.
With her new loan, she intends to purchase 30 yards of 'riche' damask fabrics, 10 yards of dyed cloth, and 3 rolls of muslin.
With the profits, she plans on having bricks made with the aim of starting construction on her own house.
