A loan helped to invest in the purchase of wood, paint and lacquer for production.

Asunta's story

Asunta is a Peruvian artisan who specializes in the traditional reverse-painted glass. She would like to invest in the purchase of wood, paint and lacquer for production.

Asunta has been selling through NOVICA since 2000. This is her story:

"At first my husband's family taught me, then we united our skills and labor. I realized that the more I practiced, the more this craft won me over, offering me tremendous gratification. Now I consider it a way of life. This whole process demands incredible patience and attention to detail. My designs are inspired by nature, and by traditional scenes from my town and region. I feel very proud of the works that I create."

"I would like to thank you for the opportunity of this microcredit. It makes it easier on me to purchase my prime materials and so keep active in my craft."
