This is Jefferson, 24, a resident of Silang, Cavite, Philippines. He is still single and he lives with his parents. He helps them in managing their household as he also works to help his family.

Jefferson maintains a tricycle business. He owns and drives one tricycle unit (a motorcycle with a sidecar) that carries up to four passengers to their destination within the community. He starts working early in the morning until late in the evening. There are times when he drives late evening until the wee hours in order to have a bigger profit. His regular customers are his neighbors and the local community. They have four tricycle units. The other three tricycles are being used by other tricycle drivers who then remit their daily quota. He earns a minimum of 1,200 PHP from his transportation business every day.

To help him continue operation of his business, he is requesting an amount of 8,000 PHP in his loan. He will be utilizing the loan to buy motorcycle parts for the maintenance of his tricycle unit. He has to maintain his unit in good condition in order to have a regular income for the daily needs of his family.

Jefferson dreams to have more tricycle units and hopes that his family will always be in a good condition. He meets up with his co-fellowship* members to share stories of his work every week and where he can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God he studies.

* All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and repay microfinance loans.
