A loan helped to process more mobile phone airtime credits on weekends.

Hawaisah's story

Hawaisah lives in Bogor, a suburban area located about an hour from Jakarta. She is married and has three children, two of whom are going to public schools. She is an entrepreneur who runs a small canteen that sells Indonesian food. Hawaisah wanted to add another source of income for her family even though her husband is working in a private company. She joined Ruma because she was interested in selling mobile phone airtime credits with support and assistance from Ruma agents. For the last three months, she has had around $34 - $35 per day in sales just from selling mobile phone airtime credits. She hopes to get a working capital loan from Kiva as sales on weekends are usually higher than on weekdays. Hawaisah plans to seek more business opportunities in the future, such as processing bill payments for her customers. She thanks you for your support.
