Robina's Group's story

Robina is a 41-year old married woman, living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is the mother of five daughters and two sons.

Robina requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner, BRAC Pakistan, for her husband. Her husband is a shoe maker and an expert in his profession. He has been manufacturing shoes for many years. This is the reason he has a lot of experience in his profession. He sews leather and rexine shoes through a machine, after that, he attaches a sole through stitching done with his hands. In this way, he is earning income for his family. He has been making shoes at home. Now he has established a shop to continue his business on a wide scale. But he does not have the amount to buy the initial raw materials for making shoes.

Therefore, Robina requested a loan for her husband so he can buy the initial raw material for making shoes. Her family has to do hard work to earn an income for a huge family. Her sons also participate in the monthly income. Robina wants her daughter to marry, this is why she is saving most of the earnings.
