Alex, who is in his late 20s, is single. He has been running a retail shop where he sells dry food and soft drinks for three years now. He works from 8am to 9pm daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit.
This will be Alex's fifth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. With his previous loans, all of which has been paid back successfully, Alex bought out-of-stock items in his shop. He is doing great and is happy with the loan. He used the profit to buy his mobile telephone, bought a bed, a mattress and covered household expenses. He will use this loan to buy sugar, beans, rice, maize flour, water, sodas, juice, etc. for his shop and make floor repairs. He dreams of owning a big retail shop.
Alex will share this loan with his loan group "Mikocheni A", which has a total of ten members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
In this group: Alex, Asha, Mwamusi, Bendita, Rukia, Dotto, Paskali, Agness, Maria, Rose
