Amadiyatoun (Parler La Même Voix) Group's story

Amadiyatoun is a group of women from the city of Koutiala who live in large traditional families. They are married women who average 40 years of age and six children each. They sell various goods such as clothing, cosmetic products, locally-made soaps, etc.

To expand their activities, the group members decided to join the Soro Yiriwaso loan program. This is their 2nd group loan cycle.

Barakissa is the member sitting 2nd from the right. She plans to use her loan to buy the materials needed to make soap. She buys her supplies in Koutiala, and retails her products for cash to a diverse clientele, at the market and from her home.

The other group members expect to earn an average profit of 115,000FCFA each for this cycle. For her part, Barakissa expects to earn 120,000FCFA.

In addition to repaying her loan, she will use part of her revenue to cover personal expenses and to bolster her working capital.
