Mariam, who is in her late 30s, is married and has three children. They are still going to school. She has been running two businesses, selling clothes and running a small grocery store. She has been in these businesses for four years now. She works from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm daily, and is able to make a very good monthly profit.
This will be Mariam's first loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She wants to use it for buying more clothes to sell, and to increase stock at her grocery store. She dreams of owning an Internet cafe.
She will share this loan with her loan group, Masite, which has five members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
