José, who is 29 years old, has no children for now. He is single, and only his parents and siblings live with him.
He works growing basic grains like beans and corn. At times he has grown vegetables, but he stopped due to lacking financial resources. He has been farming for approximately 25 years. As a child he went to the fields with his father, sometimes to bring him food, and stayed with him until it was time to leave work. That is how he learned to enjoy it and started working little by little on small plots of land. He lives solely off farming, and the land where he works is about fifteen minutes away from his home, so he gets there on foot.
He needs this financing because there is an agency that is offering technical consulting and part of the necessary supplies to grow vegetables and to install a small irrigation system, but they charge a fee in order to cover all the required expenses. His contribution will be deposited into the agency's account. This way his work will yield higher productivity and he will be able to help his family cover their basic needs. His need to look for someone to lend him the money will be met.
He wants to keep working with Fundación and for them to continue their lending support. Little by little, he will improve the irrigation system he will be provided, expand his working area, and obtain more income so that his family has what they need regarding food, housing, and shoes.
