Zulfa's story

Zulfa is a married woman. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food.

For the past two years, Zulfa has owned a food stall business; neighbors and town dwellers are her potential customers. Competition is a major challenge in her business.

Zulfa wants to use the loan of 40,000 Kenyan shillings (KES) to purchase stock such as sugar, rice, maize, wheat flour, and cooking fat. She dreams of expanding to a café business.
