Kristine's story

Kristine is from the village of Taperakan in the Ararat region. She lives with her husband and mother-in-law. She works in the local village school as a teacher. Her husband works in the government sector. The two of them work hard to earn a living for the family. Kristine is engaged in agriculture and in viticulture. It’s more than ten years since the family first started cultivating grapes. They have an established agribusiness and realize their products in the local market. Kristine’s husband helps her greatly concerning the organizational issues of the agribusiness.

As the autumn is progressing they need to prepare their vineyard for the cold weather. The procedure requires financial investment. Kristine needs a loan of USD 2,500 to purchase cable and pipes, to pay for the workforce and for the water bills. The preparation will make the viticulture more productive and help them sustain their agribusiness. Kristine and her family rely heavily on the good will of the lenders and will be thankful to them for their support.
