A loan helped to purchase organic fertilizer for her cocoa plants.

Genoveva's story

Genoveva is 47-years-old, married to Enrique, and lives in a wooden house with her three children. Since she was young, she has made her living growing and selling organic cocoa produced on their area of 2 hectares. It began with the support of her partner who helped her buy the parcels of land they are currently working with a lot of responsibility on benefit their three children. Every morning she must leave very early to their land located 1 hour from their community and carry out her daily tasks to keep the cocoa plants in good condition. Among her main necessities is that she always has money to invest in her plots with the purchase of inputs such as organic fertilizers and to pay day laborers to help with the removal of weeds. Among her long term goals are to open a business dedicated to selling groceries and obtain additional income for her work. This is her first loan request and she hopes, like many other farmers in her area, to have the confidence to keep working.
She wants to take this opportunity to have 1,000 nuevos soles to purchase organic fertilizer.
