A loan helped to buy raw materials to start her own sewing business.

Ghaliah's story

Ghaliah is a 48-year-old widow woman from Salfit, a small village near Nablus. She lives with her four sons and two daughters in a very old house. For the past six years, Ghaliah worked in a sewing workshop as a worker where she sewed traditional and handmade gifts. She has very good experience in this field, and Ghaliah would now like to start her own business where she can work at home. She has decided to open a small workshop in her home for sewing and the making of handmade gifts.
Ghaliah received a loan from Kiva's partner FATEN. This loan will help her to buy all of the necessary raw material for sewing. She would like to improve her projects in the future and export her goods outside of Palestine.
Ghaliah appears in the photo with some of her works.
