A loan helped to increase her stock by purchasing more clothes.

Ireen's story

Ireen is a 35-year-old single mother with a 14-year-old daughter. She lives in a fishing community on the shores of Lake Kariba in the Nyaminyami District of Zimbabwe. Since 2007, she has been running a business of buying and selling shoes, jewelry, shirts, skirts, and travelling bags. Ireen also serves as the leader of her local Cama chapter and volunteers as a Community Health Trainer providing basic health information to students and to other members of her community.

With the loan, she plans to purchase more shoes, jewelry, shirts, skirts, and travelling bags to increase her stock. She is hoping to expand her business and use the proceeds to enroll her daughter in a good school and manage to pay the school fees required.
