32-year-old Zenaida is a happy woman. She lives in a rented house with her husband and her three children. Zenaida makes a living from agriculture. Her sown fields contain peas, broad beans, ulluco, and potatoes. She grows them in rented plots as she does not own any land. She says: “my goal is to save the necessary money to buy my own farming land”. She and her husband work together on the land in order to obtain good results throughout the year as she has to produce high-quality crops. This is her second loan with Kiva and she is grateful to receive the financial support which will allow her to get ahead in life. She promises to make her repayments on time. Zenaida will invest the 1500 PEN in purchasing organic compost to feed her seedlings.
