A loan helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Mila's story

Mila is 33 years old. She is a friendly woman. She lives with her husband Etson and their two children in her mother's house. Mila works in agriculture and her husband works as a driver transporting food from all the cities in the country. His job is very difficult, and so he only visits her for a couple of days. However, a few months ago, she started planning with her mother to open a welding shop where her husband can work and that way he will be closer to his family. Meanwhile, she grows potatoes, corn and beans on her own land and on land she rents. She sells every harvest in the closes town. She has 12 years' experience in the fields and she also raises small animals such as chickens, pigs, guinea pigs and cows. She fattens them up and sells them later at a better price. This is her second loan with Kiva and she is grateful for the financial support that will allow her to keep going forward. She is also committed to making her payments on time.

Mila will invest the S/.1000 soles in buying organic fertilizer to feed her crops.
