A loan helped a member to buy cattle.

Rositas De Calasaya Group's story

The group “ROSITAS DE CALASAYA” will begin their first loan cycle at Pro Mujer as a part of the center of Copacabana. The group is made up of ten members and is directed by the Board of Trustees, of which Wilma is the President. The businesses which the members of the community banking group are growing and succeeding at are varied and include: milk sales, sales of meat and potato pastries (Tucumanas y Salteñas), a neaighborhood grocery, and cheese sales.

The loan they will receive will benefit the small businesses which Wilma is a member of, and it has been 5 years since she joined Pro Mujer, becoming a part of this bank through the invitation of a friend who works at the institution. Currently, she has a business in the production and sale of cheese. SHe became aware of this business and learned to do the work with the help of her mother, watching her with her milch cows, which is the root material which forms her own business product.

The loan that she will now receive is to grow her merchandise (by buying more cattle stock) which she will acquire from the neighboring communities and then the raising and creation of her products for market. This type of work allows her to generate funds for maintenance of her household, since she lives in a common law union and has three children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responded that she is pleased by the workshops on health and loan credit.

In this group: Wilma , Lucia, Martha, Juan Ariel, Celia, Ramiro, Maria Elena, Cecilia, Rufino , Nativa
